Please vote for us in the Tesco ‘Bags of Help’ scheme!
May 1st 2019 – We’re bidding to bag a massive cash boost from the Tesco Bags of Help initiative. Tesco teamed up with Groundwork, the environmental charity, to launch its community funding scheme, which sees grants of £4,000, £2,000 and £1,000 awarded to local community projects.
Three groups in every Tesco region have been shortlisted to receive the cash award and shoppers are being invited to head along to Tesco stores to vote for who they think should take away the top grant.
Our Citizens Advice office in Lowestoft is one of the groups on the shortlist. Working closely with the local branch of Groundwork we looked at ways to install energy saving measures in our Victorian building on Gordon Road, to create a welcoming environment and reduce our carbon footprint. With money raised from the Tesco scheme we hope to install modern, efficient heating, loft insulation, LED lighting and secondary glazing over the next year.
Voting is open in all three Lowestoft Tesco stores in Gunton, London Road North and at the Tesco Express in Oulton Broad during May and June. Please simply cast your vote using a token given to you at the check-out in store each time you shop. There’s no minimum spend.
