Volunteer Open Day, November 9th, 10am-4pm
21st October 2016 – Having recently moved into larger premises Citizens Advice in Lowestoft is looking to recruit more volunteers in all areas of the organisation. The charity is opening its doors at St Margaret’s House, Gordon Road on Wednesday November 9th between 10 am and 4pm so that anyone interested can come along and find out more about opportunities available at the new location that include administration, fundraising, reception duties, adviser positions and even trustee roles.
All the opportunities are flexible to fit in with other work and family commitments and include thorough training and support from the friendly team of volunteers already in post – more than 40 of them in this area alone. “Our volunteers are at the very heart of this organisation” explained Chief Executive Janet John, “and we greatly value the contribution they make to helping others, sometimes through some tough times. If a truly worthy challenge appeals to you and you’d like to make things better in this our local community, please come along and find out more about what we do, how much we achieve and how you can join us to really make a difference.
“You’ll find volunteering with Citizens Advice is varied and rewarding too – it’s a great way of learning new skills that improve your own CV if you’re looking to return to paid work or an excellent way to stay valued and involved as you approach retirement.”
