New Trustees Needed: Apply Now!

Trustee

September 12th 2017 – We are looking for new volunteer Trustees to join our charity management team. A number of opportunities exist and the current Board members are keen to hear from local people from all walks of life.

This is a very busy time for the organisation and we’re looking for people with a range of specialist skills to bring ideas and innovation to our work.  Whilst management experience is valuable, a commitment to improving the lives of people in the local community and really wanting to make a difference are equally important.

Trustees have overall control of a charity and are responsible for making sure it’s doing what it was set up to do. This includes ensuring it is complying with the law, managing resources responsibly and acting with reasonable care.  Therefore in order to achieve our aims some particular business skills such as finance, fundraising, communication and partnership working are particularly useful.

We welcome applications from all sections of the community and from people with a wide range of experience and backgrounds. No formal qualifications are required although being able to play an active role is essential, as is the ability and willingness to give at least seven hours a month to the organisation.

Successful applicants can expect to gain useful management and team-working experience as well as transferable training opportunities, which are all valuable for anyone building an impressive CV, particularly young people looking at careers in the law or public service.

Although Trustees must be over 18, there may be other volunteering opportunities for people under this age within the charity.

Please find more information in the letter from our Chief Executive below, as well as an application form. We would be grateful if you would also include the Diversity Monitoring form too when you apply.

Many thanks for your interest in joining us!
