Volunteers Needed

We are part of the  UK’s largest free and impartial advice-giving network with offices throughout Waveney, are we’re  looking for new volunteers of all ages to join the team in Lowestoft.

Successful applicants will join our team of over 40 volunteers that help an increasing number of clients by exploring their problems, prioritising actions, identifying next steps or directing them to the most relevant service. Problems can range from debt and benefit issues, through to consumer and relationship queries.

Our office is extremely busy and the positions that currently require extra capacity include assessors and advisors. Full training will be given to applicants able to commit to six hours per week, and you’ll get plenty of support including shadowing and observing others working here. Existing staff and volunteers are always on hand to share their experiences and give insights into training for these highly rewarding roles.

“The close network of volunteers are the lifeblood of the organisation” said Chief Executive, Janet John, “Everybody’s contribution, if only for the minimum of six hours per week, makes a real difference to people who have encountered problems in their lives across a wide range of issues.

“In addition, our volunteers find supporting other people a worthwhile and fulfilling experience that can often open doors to new friendships and employment opportunities for themselves.” she added.
